Gryphon Piano Trio Johnson AuditoriumFebruary 19, 2012
"This is a piano trio that plays with strength
and unanimity … big, bold, almost orchestral performances. The Gryphon brings bravura spirit to the piano trio.” - L.A. Times With a repertoire ranging from traditional to contemporary, this Toronto based piano trio is committed to redefining chamber music for the 21st century. The Trio’s eleven celebrated recordings are an encyclopedia of works from Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven to Shostakovich and Piazzolla. The Trio’s Listen Up! project involves an entire school in the creation of a new work for choir and piano trio. The project, created in collaboration with a composer and music educator, will travel to schools across North America as the Trio approaches its 20th season in 2013.
